thanks|||I personally don't like the iPhone, i find it to plain and not that advanced but thats my opinion I If you want a phone that has free apps (jailbreaking), quick processing, and an inner camera then get the iPhone. iPhone doesn't have that much customization options I If you want a phone that has an advanced social networking, organization and customization, and easy to access apps then get the windows phone. Windows phone has a limited amount of apps and doesn't have an inner camera (unless your reading this in the future where they do have inner cameras).


If you are getting a windows phone I would recommend the HTC Arrive with Sprint. But overall I would recommend an Android device because they are the perfect mix of iPhone and Windows Phone.|||Windows Phone is good, but the iPhone %26amp; its iOS is better. Used both, own an iPhone.

If you do this it shouldnt have to say converting or syncing. it should simply copy the file. then try to open the file. Will Nokia make a Windows Phone 7 for Sprint?

With the release of Windows Phone 7 on Nokia devices right around the corner i was wondering if Nokia would make CDMA versions of their popular phones. Nokia does not have many (if any) phones in Sprint's lineup so it would be interested to know if they will expand their presence.|||I don't see why they wouldn't. That is the main purpose of them creating WP7 devices is to sell them and make a profit isnt it? So I'm sure they would try to expand Windows Phone to as many providers as they can. But I don't see them receiving one anytime soon because they have been releasing nothing but lower quality Android devices for the past year and still are. I have seen LG Optimus 7 and I like it.. But i heard it doesn't have a good camera and there is no bass equalizer in its Zune player. Which phone can do the trick? (Please don't suggest me iPhone.. I need Microsoft word so I need Windows Mobile phone)|||I'd say one of the Samsung ones, either the Omnia 7 or the Focus seem good. They should both have an AMOLED screen, and a fairly nice exterior. The Focus is also the lightest of the Windows Phone 7 phones.





There is the Dell Venue Pro, but there seems to be a whole lot of demand for it, but Dell has yet to really be able to sell it in stores due to some production issues. So who knows?





Then the HTC ones seem ok. Any of them.





The least I'd recommend is LG, because they're designs are pretty ugly, though I think one or both their phones does come with DLNA so you can beam media from your phone to TVs or speakers and such that use DLNA.|||Best one overall is the Samsung Focus

I have wifi at my apartment and I'm in college so most of my time I'm on campus where there is also wifi. So I was wondering which data plan would be best, the 200mb or the 2gb. Mostly what I use the internet for is facebook and email.|||The good news is you are not tied to the original data plan you choose. You are switch data plans to suit your needs. My suggestion to my customers is to start with the $25 2GB plan. Then check your usage after a month or two. If you are over the 200 MB, then stay on the plan. If you are under, switch down. The reason I would start at the 2GB plan is if you go to 201 MB on the 200MB plan, you are charged an additional $15 for another 200MB. So now you have spent $30 for 400MB when you could have had 2GB for $5 less.

How can I retrieve my programs from my memory card and use them on my phone afterwards?|||You will only be able to recover programs on your memory card if you kept the installer package on the card itself. Thnks|||It is not true that Android phones are cheaply made or cost more to repair. Android is an operating system used by many many manufacturers because it is open source and free of licensing fees. You can opt for top of the range devices made by Motorola, HTC and Samsung etc or go for cheap chinese makes like Huawei. Now that I have adequately defended Android phones I will answer your question:





Neither operating system is "better" than another. They are both amazing. Here is a summary of things that are important to me:





Slickness: WP is a very slick and beautiful OS. It is a real pleasure to use. WP wins


Exclusivity: You get to stand out from the crowd. Every person seems to have Android or iOS in their hands. WP wins


Customization: You can literally change everything about your Android phone. WP is limited. Android wins


Hackability: You can root your Android phone and unleash its true power. With WP, you are always stuck with what Microsoft allows you to do. Android wins


Apps: There's almost 100 times as many apps for Android and they are mostly free (ad supported). WP apps are still catching up and are usually very expensive. Android wins


Price: You can get cheap deals on both systems. Draw





Not much between them but the open source nature and hackability of Android gets my vote.|||Just because Android is popular, doesn't mean that it's better than Windows Phone. Personally, besides iOS, Windows Phone 7.5 is much better than any Android release. Windows Phone is more stable, has Windows Market Place (Android Market equivalent). Other stability I prefer the Windows Phone look over Android, Android looks very make shift and miss placed. I switched from a droid, and I also have an iPod touch, so I have a good sense of the three operating systems. I have to say this windows phone gives a new meaning to smart phone. I had no trouble figuring out how to use this phone, which was provided for free through BzzAgent. As soon as it came out of the box and I popped in the batter, I had it charging and ready to go. It took me a few minutes to sit of the phone, way less than it took to use the droid. The tiles on the front are really nice. You can customize the phone and see your calls, messages, photos, and even Microsoft Office documents. I am not much of a gamer, so I replaced that tile with a weather app, and that is just perfect for me.|||iphone 4 all the way. htc windows has a lot of bugs they haven't worked out. soon enough they should make an xbox live app for the iphone 4 anyway

Well, news flash- Sprint uses CDMA too, and so do over 40 other countries in the world. Verizon didnt want it when Apple came to them first back in 2006 and they dont want it now. Why would they, when any Android phone crushes the iDont any day of the week, and Android is already selling more phones than Apple anyways?? Plus, ATT knows that without the iPhone, they have nothing, so they will pay Apple as much as they want in order to keep it. Why would you ever want such a horrible phone?





iOS is crap, and so is Windows Phone 7- NO ONE likes Windows phones at all. They are by far the worst-selling phones on every carrier. Blackberry, iOS, and Android all sell WAY more phones than Windows. Yes, Verizon will eventually get WP7 phones, but not til next year..

Should I Get a windows Phone or an iPhone?

I want to get a new phone and I was going to get the Verizon iPhone, and then an employee at the microsoft store said that verizon is getting the windows phone next week, so now I am tied between the two. Also I don't really care if it has a keyboard.|||I personally have a Windows Phone 7 (WP7 for short) and I really enjoy it. It's easy to use, looks really slick, feel responsive and even has my Xbox Live account stuff on it (if you're into that kind of thing). The live tiles are really nice as well.



I have friends with the iPhone and while it's a good device, I don't like how it depends on iTunes and I feel that the interface is getting a little outdated. It does do some things better than the WP7 though. That's just me though.



They should have demo units at the store (or you can even go to an AT%26amp;T store and try out a WP7 and an iPhone) so you can compare the two yourself.|||Iphone. I've never had an Iphone but Ive had a windows phone and it SUCKED big time! I hated it! I gave that phone away because it was too slow and it actually powered up like a computer...SLOWLY! So for a phone I wouldn't. But I recommend the Androids they are the best!|||I have owned both and personally I prefer the Windows Phone 7. There are not as many apps for Windows Phone yet as it is still a fairly new platform. So if you are looking for a huge app library... go Android.|||the iphone is easier to use, has more apps, and excellent support. i'd definitely go with the iphone.

What's taking Nokia so long to make a Windows Phone? I mean it's been, what, 2 months since their alliance with microsoft?|||A Nokia running Windows phone 7 will only be released at the end of the year, if not next early next year. It may seem long, but we rather wait for something good , than a 'rushed' out product. It actually takes VERY long to design cell phones...2 months is like nothing!

What is the best Windows Phone for AT&T?

I think that the Samsung Focus looks relatively good, but I don't know what the best WinPho for AT%26amp;T is. The Focus is free and looks to compete with the HTC HD7S (a two hundred dollar phone). The Surround looks pathetic, but that's beside the point. If you have any suggestions as to what would be the best Windows Phone on AT%26amp;T, I'd really appreciate your input :)|||Currently the best phone would be tied between the Samsung Focus and HTC HD7S. I personally like the Samsung Focus better because it uses a Super Amoled screen that is much mor evibrant than the HTC HD7S's Super LCD screen. But the screen on the HD7S is much bigger. In the ends it really comes down to if you want a big, but not as vibrant screen or a vibrant, but not as big screen, as well as the form factor of each phone. The HD7S also includes a kickstand if you watch a lot of movies. So its also like entertainment phone vs. practical phone. It is a tough decision. I would personally go with the Samsung Focus as it is the most popular. But AT%26amp;T is also halting sales on many of their phones and this is most likely because of the holiday season and that will bring a plethera of new phones. AT%26amp;T will be carrying the HTC Titan, Samsung Focus S, and the Samsung Focus Flash. I would personally wait until they would start selling these phones as they all have Windows Phone 7.5|Mango preinstalled as well as front facing cameras for pictures and video chat. The HTC Titan has a MONSTER screen. It's gigantic. But it still has the not so good Super LCD screen as the HTC HD7S now has. It also has a low screen resultion and that will be apparent with such a big screen. The Samsung Focus S is the phone I'm waiting for to make the jump (I have been a happy iPhone user for a year but when I saw a Windows Phone I had to have it). It has a Super Amoled screen (YAY!), 4.3" (YAY!, also the same size as te HD7S screen) and a front facing camera (but all the new phones have that). The Samsung Focus Flash is a more lower end phone for people who don't need as big as screens as the other two phones offer. I would wait until the Samsung Focus S comes out until you buy a Windows Phone 7. For reference the Samsung Focus S will be like a Windows Phone version of the Samsung Galaxy SII. Also all the new phones support AT%26amp;T's HPSA+ 4G network (which isn't as fast as LTE 4G, HSPA+ is more like a faster 3G but not as fast as 4G although it is marketed as 4G). If LTE is important to you Microsoft recently hinted that there will most likely be LTE phones in the ext 3-4 months but they did not specify the carrier so don't get your hopes up. Well I hope this has been thorough and I'm glad somebody besides me is interested in Windows Phone 7. Make a good choice.

I'm thinking about buying Beats by Dre Sudios but I'm also a pretty active gamer. I was wondering if the Astro A40 wireless headsets work with iPods and Windows Phone 7's. If it works with android also that would be useful to know also.|||From their manual, they have a connector for a PC and additional cables for connecting this to a 3.5mm mini-jack. This can plug in to the iPhone or Windows Phone 7 devices. It would likely work on any android device as 3.5 mini-jacks are industry standard. You only get stereo audio and the microphone doesn't do anything as the jack is output only.





A full sized headset does use a lot more power than the smaller ones, so battery life is a lot shorter and volume might be limited. They are also more trouble to carry around than smaller ear-bud types. Hence the A30s are smaller and lighter. If you are using the devices for gaming, you might find the cables to be annoying -- you need to hold the (relatively small) devices and large heavy cables may not be convienient.





Honestly, such a headset would be complete overkill for a phone. If you use it at home on your PC maybe its fine to carry around, but I think you'll find lugging them around is a hassle. You can put a cell in your pocket. As an alternative you might wish to look at wireless Bluetooth headsets. Many include stereo, you get the microphone capabilities, built-in power is likely better for volume and battery life, you don't have any cables to deal with, and you can put the device in your pocket while listening to music.

XBox Live is merely a central system for managing an account which storing and unlocking achievements and other information. If you have an XBox (and setup XBox Live) when you login and play a game, it can 'remember' certain information (typically accomplishments) which might give you different options when playing the game.





For example, you login to XBox Live on your computer and play say Halo. You kill some big bad guy and it gives you an achievement that unlocks some secret base you can get into. Weeks later, you go to your friends place and play Halo on his XBox (logged in to XBox Live). It will 'remember' your achievement and give you access to that secret base.





XBox Live for Windows Phone 7 is the same thing. If you play a game on your Windows Phone device and do something it will forward your achievement to XBox Live. Later, that achievement might allow you to do something. For example, if you play The Harvest, and reach a certain point, it allows you to start with different suits of armor. Technically, if you had two phones (or logged in on someone else's phone) it would know about your achievements on the other phone.





Achievements also give points which you can use for various things within other games. Some games might share achievements.

I will definitely recommend the HTC Trophy specifically because it runs Windows Phone 7. The OS is zippy, smooth and never crash. The interface in unique and NOT copy from iPhone (AKA Android).

Why isnt Windows phone 7 catching on very fast?

ive used all kinds of phones. every iphone, tons of androids, and now wp7. ive never seen such a beautiful, smooth running, bugless OS as in windows phone 7. its honestly the best phone as far as look and usability out there. so y arent they catching on? and y arent the phones holding value worth crap?|||Consumers do what they are told or what is cool. Only reason iPhone is still big. I mean it is 5 year old software that ppl are still getting sold on because "it's sexy". It is the same story with Windows XP basically. 10 years later people are still using it because it was all they thought was available or what they were told.

You can also purchase music, movies, or apps from the Zune software on your PC and they will be sync'd the next time your phone connects via USB or WiFi.





A few obvious problems...





1. You don't have phone service, you can't receive calls.





2. No text messages.





3. You have to buy the phone out right. Most provides offer the phone over time as part of their contact.





4. WiFi isn't available in many places/areas.





5. You can't call 911, family in case of emergencies, etc.





6. WiFi does chew through the battery. Just leaving it on likely halves the time between charges. Actively using it, along with browsing/apps which use it, likely cuts the time down to 3-4 hours.





Personally, I'd at least get a prepaid phone plan. Put $20 on it and then only use it for emergencies.|||Ask your current provider about transfering (or adding) your new phone to the same plan. i've already downloaded the windows phone 7 connector, and all is well except i can't get any songs on the phone because all the songs have that DRM protection thing...
