As a Verizon customer, is it possible to get the Windows Phone and not have a "Data Plan"?

The only "plan" I need is unlimited texting. I'd have no interest in having the internet on my phone, even if the rates were a bargain. Is it possible to get the Windows Phone without signing up for the data plan? On their website, they say no.

As a side note: is it worth it to buy the Windows Phone without the internet? Are too many of the applications web based?|||I'm relatively positive that any phone you purchase from Verizon now needs a data plan, with the exception of the two very, very basic phones that they have. The cheapest you can get is a 10$ plan, but again, that's limited to only certain phones. I think one you get into the iPhones, you have to get the 30$+ plans.|||Sorry any Windows Phone is considered a smart phone. You would be required to get a data plan from Verizon. It would cost you 29.99 per month for 2GB of data internet. Windows Phone has apps similar to Android and would need to have a data plan to work.
