i have an old windows phone that i'm upgrading and i want to back up my contacts. i don't have the full blown ms office package, i have all but outlook. can't i synch the info to excel in a csv file?|||It depends on what you else you have to work with. Windows Vista/Win 7 has a built in Sync tool, which should be where you are looking. There is also software that will allow you to sync your user info with Google/Gmail or Yahoo, which means it is always available and always backed up.
If you have XP and Activesync, it should still let you sync the info to a Yahoo account.
I did the XP/AS to Yahoo sync for a couple years with my TMobile Wing.
