Thnks|||It is not true that Android phones are cheaply made or cost more to repair. Android is an operating system used by many many manufacturers because it is open source and free of licensing fees. You can opt for top of the range devices made by Motorola, HTC and Samsung etc or go for cheap chinese makes like Huawei. Now that I have adequately defended Android phones I will answer your question:





Neither operating system is "better" than another. They are both amazing. Here is a summary of things that are important to me:





Slickness: WP is a very slick and beautiful OS. It is a real pleasure to use. WP wins


Exclusivity: You get to stand out from the crowd. Every person seems to have Android or iOS in their hands. WP wins


Customization: You can literally change everything about your Android phone. WP is limited. Android wins


Hackability: You can root your Android phone and unleash its true power. With WP, you are always stuck with what Microsoft allows you to do. Android wins


Apps: There's almost 100 times as many apps for Android and they are mostly free (ad supported). WP apps are still catching up and are usually very expensive. Android wins


Price: You can get cheap deals on both systems. Draw





Not much between them but the open source nature and hackability of Android gets my vote.|||Just because Android is popular, doesn't mean that it's better than Windows Phone. Personally, besides iOS, Windows Phone 7.5 is much better than any Android release. Windows Phone is more stable, has Windows Market Place (Android Market equivalent). Other stability I prefer the Windows Phone look over Android, Android looks very make shift and miss placed. Windows Phone, like iPhone (iOS) is virus and malware free, while Android (being popular and supposedly Open Source) has many reports of malware and so far one or two viruses (that generally pose as 'Apps' and steal you data without you knowing,including phone numbers, addresses, account passwords and other stuff).





Get Windows Phone, you will find cheaper Android based phones, but they're cheaper for a reason (didn't sell well or poor quality hardware). Android device also (on average) cost more to repair than iPhones and some Windows Phones.|||For me, Android is still by far more good than the Windows Phone because it is popular and an open source platform. And Android have some good apps and games that the Windows Phone hasn't. So for me, Android!
