Do you need windows on your computer to have a windows phone?

I know this seems really simple, and it may be, but I am looking to get a new phone, and I like the design and layout of the Windows HTC phones, but I was wondering if having a Windows computer is necessary for those phones. I am a Mac computer person.|||hahahahah noooo
